It’s easy to go through life mechanically. It’s easy to repeat the monotony of every day without looking to Christ. It’s easy to forget that He is present in every single moment of every single day. During every drudging task, He is there. Through the minutest, most insignificant event, God is watching.
It’s important to look for God in every day. Try to see Him in those monotonous tasks. Realize His presence at every moment.
Every morning when you get out of bed, that is a miracle. God is there allowing it to happen. It’s a fresh, new day. A new day is a clean slate with new opportunities to see Christ’s presence. It’s a fresh start in your walk with Him. It’s a new day upon which His mercies are showered. There is new energy and strength to sustain you as you serve Him in every task. It is a new day full of opportunities to serve God and be a witness for Him.
Every night when you lay your head down, so many accomplishments lay behind you. You made it through the day! You made it through the long day with all its many obstacles and challenges. You made it, but did you do it right? Did you run on your own strength, or did you ask God to give you strength for every task? Did you lift up your name, or did you seek to honor and glorify your Heavenly Father? Did every monotonous task glorify Him? Did your actions show Him to others? All the tasks you have accomplished, who were they for?
Don’t let the monotony of daily life take your focus off God! Even such tasks as Bible study, prayer, church, and witnessing can become nothing more than mechanical monotony. Don’t let that happen. See God in everything. Realize his presence in every moment. Know that He is right there beside you every day. Draw your strength from Him. He is there.
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
_Psalm 118:24
